Report: Shortage of Pilots Could Lead to Inexperienced Hires
Airlines might be hiring pilots that aren’t as good as the current ones.
That’s the fear following a forecast released Thursday by plane maker Boeing. It expects 460,000 new pilots will be needed worldwide over the next 20 years because airliners are getting tens of thousands of new planes.
The shortage of pilots or increase of less-experienced ones would affect regional airports before big ones like Minneapolis-St. Paul International.
