Sixth Annual Make-A-Wish Walk Set for Saturday
The sixth annual Walk-For-Wishes event is scheduled to take place on July 14 at Normandale Lake Park. Come lace up your shoes to help young children facing life threatening illnesses find a hope for their future.
The fundraiser will be led by a grand marshal wish child who had received a wish when she was facing a malignant brain tumor at the age of 4. Now 34 and healthy, the survivor strives to empower children who currently face harsh sickness.
KSTP Anchor Megan Newquist will take part in the walk. Megan has volunteered in a hospital setting for almost a decade and this will be her third year as a participant. She expressed that, “These kids are near and dear to my heart.”
The Minnesota Make-A-Wish walk will begin at 7:00 a.m. and will wrap up at 12:00 p.m. Walk-up registrations are welcomed.
Those who participate in the event will have the option of doing a 2-mile walk or a 5K-run.
