Study: Dogs Provide Health Benefits for Babies
Man’s best friend may provide health benefits for babies.
A Finnish study finds children who have a dog or a cat around during the first year of life are healthier and develop fewer respiratory infections. Having the pet means fewer runny noses, fewer antibiotics, and fewer doctor visits in the baby’s first year.
Dogs provided better health benefits than cats. The study, which was published in Pediatrics, looked at 400 babies.
