Charges Pending Against Suspects in Robbinsdale Burglaries

Charges are pending against two people believed to be responsible for a string of burglaries in Robbinsdale, police say.

The arrests happened shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday after police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 4300 block of York Avenue North.

Officers located one of the suspects inside the vehicle. The second suspect, who was located in an alley, was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.

Police later learned a residence in the 4200 block of Zenith Avenue North had been burglarized through forced entry.

On Wednesday, investigators executed a search warrant at a Brooklyn Center residence in connection with the incident. They believe the suspects, who are now in the Hennepin County Jail awaiting charges, may be responsible for other recent Robbinsdale burglaries.

Police say a "vigilant witness" alerted Minneapolis and Robbinsdale police to the vehicle and the suspects, who had been observed canvassing neighborhoods in both cities.

Robbinsdale police are reminding residents to call 911 anytime they see something suspicious.
