Sherburne County Man Interrupts Armed Burglar
When Michael Granberg walked into his Baldwin Township garage Thursday morning, he spotted a man holding a weapon.
A spokesperson for the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office said Granberg called 911 about 7:15 a.m. to report a burglary that was happening right then. Granberg reported that he'd heard noises from his attached garage.
"He walked out to investigate and saw the subject standing in the garage holding a weapon owned by the caller," said the spokesperson. "The suspect fled but the caller was able to give authorities an excellent description and a direction of travel."
The spokesperson said deputies responded and chased a suspect into a wooded area. Within minutes of the call to 911, 29-year-old Duwayne Leese was in custody. He was booked into the Sherburne County Jail on suspicion of burglary.
