An Illinois man is now charged in connection with a stabbing at a Bloomington bar. Police say 39 year-old Walter Opiola and the victim, a St. Paul man, got into an arguement inside Cowboy Jacks late Sunday night.
Officials say the fight moved outside where Opiola is accused of punching and stabbing the victim. Police say the two did not know each other.
Opiola was arrested near the Southtown Shopping area. He is now charged with first degree assault.
The victim, who was stabbed in the heart, underwent surgery and is listed in critical condition.
