On the Road: Split Rock Light House
Split Rock Light House is one of Minnesota's most popular tourist attractions, with good reason.
The 102 year old beacon was built before there was a road along the north shore of Lake Superior, and historic old film of how it was constructed is part of this "On the Road" program celebrating it's colorful history.
We manage to track down the last light house keeper and he tells us how it was when the beam shone across the lake to guide shipping.
Also we visit with a photographer who is obsessed with Split Rock and has produced a stunning new book, and go out fishing with one of the last commercial fisherman who still uses the Split Rock Light House as a navigational aid.
