MN Farmers Deliver Fresh Produce to Daycare Centers

Children attending New Horizon Academy centers throughout Minnesota will have the chance to eat fresh fruits and vegetables grown by Minnesota farmers.  The daycare center is teaming up with the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy for the program. 

The pilot project will introduce preschool children to fresh fruits and vegetables in their snacks and meals.  The students will also learn about how food is grown and how to tend to a garden.  They'll also get the chance to meet local farmers who are supplying the fresh produce.

The program is starting at 13 New Horizon Academy locations throughout the Twin Cities, St. Cloud, and Rochester.  In 2013, the program will be extended to all 60 of New Horizon Academy's Minnesota locations, reaching approximately 7,500 children.

Kinderberry Hill in Eden Prairie;

Kinderberry Hill in Roseville;

NHA at 98th and Normandale in Bloomington;

NHA on Minnesota Drive in Bloomington;

NHA at Cascade Creek in Rochester;

NHA at Best Buy Headquarters in Richfield;

NHA in Excelsior/Shorewood;

NHA at Yankee Doodle Rd. in Eagan;

NHA on Conway St. in St. Paul;

NHA in Blaine;

NHA at Boston Scientific in Arden HIlls;

NHA in Sartell;

NHA at Hwy. 55 and 169 in Plymouth; and

NHA at the Burnsville Transit Station (Hwy. 13) in Burnsville.
