Maple Grove Police Look for Suspect in Possible Sex Assault

Maple Grove police are asking for the public's helping in locating the suspect in a possible sexual assault that occurred along a popular park trail.
Police say officers were called to the 9100 block of Upland Lane North shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday on a report of the incident.
Police say the victim, a woman, was jogging at the time of the alleged assault. She did not need to be hospitalized.
Capt. Keith Terlinden said police believe the woman to be very credible. She had injuries matching her account of what happened.
The incident happened along a busy section of park trail, and Terlinden said police believe someone in the area may have seen the suspect.
That suspect is described as a white male in his late teens to early 20s, standing 5'6" to 6' tall with sandy blonde hair. He was wearing a crew neck fitted black t-shirt and blue jeans and carrying a camouflage backpack and a black metal box. The suspect arrived on foot and fled north on the path.
Anyone with information is asked to call Hennepin County Dispatch at 763-525-6216. The case number for this incident is 12-19786.
