Lane of Westbound I-94 Between St. Paul, Mpls. to Close Thursday

Drivers headed westbound on Interstate 94 in Minneapolis and St. Paul on Thursday morning may experience delays as a lane of traffic closes for road work.
The Department of Transportation (MnDOT) says the closure will occur at 9 a.m. between Cretin Avenue/Vandalia Street and Cedar Avenue. The lane is scheduled to re-open by 3 p.m.
MnDOT says the work is needed as crews complete emergency pull-off paving and final sign installation.
The work is part of the I-94 improvement project, which stretches from downtown St. Paul to downtown Minneapolis and includes resurfacing, drainage improvements and bridge maintenance work.
It also involves installation of "Smart Lane" technology - electronic signs over lanes that display information about road conditions.
