Persistence, Resilience Characterize Rasmussen Grad
Persistence, resilience and achievement. That's how Rasmussen College describes one of its newest graduates.
Theresa Barden balanced work, school and caring for her two daughters as she worked toward a degree in Justice Studies from Rasmussen's Blaine campus.
Then during her final quarter, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Despite losing feeling in one of her hands and a hospitalization, Barden graduated with a 3.5 GPA.
Barden was chosen to be the student speaker at Rasmussen's commencement ceremony, which was held Saturday at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Approximately 1,800 students received their degrees.
