Kaler Names Pamela Wheelock VP for University Services
University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler has named Pamela Wheelock as vice president for University Services.
If approved by the Board of Regents, Wheelock will begin her duties on Aug. 15.
Wheelock has more than 25 years of leadership experience, including acting as deputy mayor under Norm Coleman from 1994-1996, leadership roles with Minnesota Sports and Entertainment, CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, and vice president for leadership and community engagement at the Bush Foundation, among other roles.
Current Vice President Kathleen O’Brien announced she will be retiring on June 30 after 10 years at the university. Chief Financial Officer Richard Pfutzenreuter will serve as the interim vice president until Wheelock begins her duties.
The vice president for University Services is the COO for the university and a key member of the president’s senior leadership team.
