Not since Joe Mauer (Cretin-Derham Hall HS) in 2001 has a Minnesota high school kid been a first-round pick. But pitcher Mitch Brown (Rochester Century HS) is likely to change that. Whether it's the first round, which begins on June 4, or the supplemental round before the second round, Brown is expected to go.
In fact, it won't be shocking if the Twins take him at No. 32 or No. 42. Interim General Manager Terry Ryan scouted Brown on Tuesday.
