Minnesota Snow Sculpting Team to Compete in China

nullA Twin Cities champion snow sculpting team will represent Minnesota and the U.S. in the International Snow Sculpting Competition at China’s Harbin Ice and Snow Festival 2012.

The winter festival takes place January 10-13 and is one of the four largest in the world, visited by over nine million spectators. Fifteen snow sculpting teams from across the world are invited to Harbin every year based on their performance in other national and international competitions.

Minnesota Big Snow is a group of 6 local snow sculptors. It is the only U.S. team invited to this competition. The group has been a part of over 100 local, national, and international snow sculpting events.

The Harbin Ice and Snow Festival lasts for six weeks and is known for its massive, illuminated buildings built of ice and snow, ice slides, and giant snow sculptures.
