Children With Autism Enjoy Special Time With Santa in Blaine

The holidays are an exciting time for most of us, but for kids with autism, they can be overwhelming. That's why a north metro mall hosted a special event today for autistic kids to meet Santa Claus and get their photo with him.

There were no lines or time limits at North Town Mall Sunday. The mall was closed and the lights and music set low for children with autism.

Santa is sensitive too. He realizes some kids with autism do not like to be touched or may not like sudden noises. He lets them call the shots.

The Centers for Disease Control says 1 in 110 children have some form of autism.
