5 EYEWITNESS NEWS establishes news anchor line-ups 2/10/065 EYEWITNESS NEWS announced today that effective Monday, February 13, 2006 two anchor teams will be leading the news at 5:00pm, 6:00pm, 6:30pm and 10:00pm. Cyndy Brucato and Joe Schmit will continue to anchor 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS at 5:00pm and Cyndy will join Joe on the anchor desk at 6:30pm. John Mason and Leah McLean will anchor 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS at 6:00pm and 10:00pm. “We have spent the last two years reinforcing our commitment to more news for our viewers. As part of that commitment we are now excited to offer the strongest anchor teams in the Twin Cities,” said Rob Hubbard, General Manager of 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS. Hubbard also noted that Brucato who returned to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS in 2004 had initially agreed to anchor only one newscast. “These new teams honor our promise to her,” Hubbard said. Finally, Hubbard says, ”Nothing could please us more than the fact that we have found this strength within our own newsroom -- familiar faces and news professionals that offer depth and continuity to lead us forward.” |
