KEATING: Two Days Until Wolves Start Season

Wednesday night at Target Center the Timberwolves are back in the building for the first of another 82-game season.  The "post" Kevin McHale years officially start. You likely won't recognize many of those in uniform or some on the coaching staff but change is good.

That's right no more Kevin McHale for fans to blame everything for, Kurt Rambis, the Laker great, is now on the bench.  McHale is gone, currently handicapping teams for NBA TV.

Wednesday the Nets come to town, a young team also trying to figure out their way and I would've said this would be an easy win for the T-wolves but with Kevin Love out with a broken left hand and Al Jefferson still iffy about playing with a sore achilles this could be a tough night.  But you never know, if nothing else this will be an exciting team to watch.  Yes, Rambis has put in the Triangle Offense, an intricate half court offense but he wants these guys to run first.  That's nice to hear because guards Jonny Flynn and Ramon sessions are both explosive.  Corey Brewer and his extra long arms loves to fill the lanes and we've got at least one legitimate three-point threat in Sash Pavlovic (I still can't believe Mike Miller didn't hit more three's).

The Wolves finished pre-season 3-5...and we will know fairly soon where they stand after the first four games.  They'll have their easiest game Wednesday against NJ.  But then LeBron comes to town followed by two road games...Phoenix and the Clippers...both Western Conference teams that looked very good in pre-season.  These Wolves are young but it should be fun and you never know what'll happen.
