SAWKAR: Dinner with Cyndy

One of the beautiful things about being in broadcast news is that you get to work with some interesting people and form some fun friendships. Before I started anchoring the morning news, I developed a nice friendship with one of 5 Eyewitness News' most recognizable personalities, Cyndy Brucato. She is a great lady who is absolutely hilarious.

She and her husband Brian are gems and my husband and I enjoy meeting them for dinner every few months.

This summer we met them at I Nonni in Lilydale which serves amazing food from Italy which of course is Cyndy's heritage. This past weekend we tried Om in Minneapolis which of course serves food from my heritage, India! Both places are outstanding and the best part is watching Cyndy order. She is a pro at picking out the good stuff and asking the waiter great questions.

Cyndy and Brian were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary. They are one of those cool couples you absolutely love being around. They are empty nesters so it's fun to hear about their adventures travelling.

I really admire Cyndy. Sometimes people in our business get a bad reputation for being just talking heads but Cyndy is extremely well read and knowledgeable about what's going on in the world. It's also fun to chat with her about her days working in the political world.

Now the big question is what nation's food do we sample at our next dinner?
