5 EYEWITNESS NEWS WINS NATIONAL EMMY AWARD FOR 35W BRIDGE COLLAPSE COVERAGE

Minneapolis/Saint Paul, MN – 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS, KSTP-TV has won the National Emmy Award for “Outstanding Regional News Story - Spot News” for their coverage of the 35W Bridge Collapse in 2007.  5 EYEWITNESS NEWS was the only Minnesota news outlet to be recognized with a National Emmy this year.  This is the first National Emmy Award 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has received.

Rob Hubbard, President and General Manager of KSTP said, “In a time of great tragedy, when Minnesotans were in need of up to the minute information, 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS lead the coverage of this catastrophe not just by being first on the scene but by sticking with this story over the months of rebuilding not only a bridge, but the lives of so many Minnesotans.”
