SAWKAR: Living The Good Life In The 60's

It's fun to step back in time and get a flavor for what life was like. I was born in 1968 so I don't really know what life in the 1960's was really like but I do know that many people are interested in it these days.

Our good friends Kim and Chris threw a Mad Men party this weekend. Mad Men is a new show that has a cult following. It is set in the 1960's and gives you a startling look at what life was like back then. We had fun dressing up like women from the 60's. I actually enjoyed putting my hair up and donning the pearls. I am not as enamored with the other roles women played back then especially in the workplace. I am so appreciative, though, of the strides women made in the workplace over the years to create the wonderful work environment women now have in this day and age. We can't say thank you enough to women who endured quite a bit.

I am also thrilled we don't have to encounter all of that cigarette smoke on a daily basis at work and at home. Life is certainly different now. It makes your wonder what our children will be dressing like when they have 80's parties someday!
