My husband has taken on the task of dubbing over our old home video tapes and putting them on DVD. It is a fun process because we are all enjoying watching the home videos and remembering the days when my children were babies. It's amazing how much I have forgotten. Thank goodness he is preserving them. The one person in our family who is truly mesmerized by the video is our 6-year old daughter. She can't get enough of what she calls "born baby video." She likes to see herself as a little baby and see how we reacted to her. It's fun to watch her 9-year old big brother as a little 3-year old trying to feed his baby sister yogurt. We were sitting on the couch watching one of her baby videos and she turned to me and said, "I want to be a baby again." It was so interesting to see a little girl who wanted to go back in time. I always thought that was reserved for us old fogies who want to relive college but she sincerely wants to go back in time. I told her I love her just the way she is but she asked if she could at least be 3 years old again. She did qualify that wish, though. In the old baby videos, there is plenty of video of me but my hair is super short. (It was a phase I went through as an anchor and glad I am out of now!) She asked if she did go back to being 3 that I have the long hair I have now. I laughed. Too bad we can't change the past, too!
